I don’t know about you but Black Moon’s Enta Da Stage album put me in quite a zone when it first dropped. It was released in 1993 and let’s see, if I do the math correctly, I was about 15 or 16. A lot was happening around that time. I had just gotten a new job sweeping up hair in a barbershop out in St. Albans. I was just starting High School and these were definitely the glory years for an abundance of “firsts”.
As I listen to this mix all of those memories just came rushing back dressed in army fatigue and black chukka boots from Jamaica Ave. If you’re a Black Moon fan, you will thoroughly enjoy this mix.

Released October 19th 1993, Black Moon’s classic debut LP ‘Enta Da Stage’ celebrates its 25th Anniversary this year. Produced entirely by Da Beatminerz, the album’s production style epitomises early 90s East Coast boom bap sonics with laid back, filtered jazz-funk samples meeting crunchy drums, cut choruses and gritty wordplay.
