New York-based fine artist TTK debuts with “See What I’m Seeing,” his most intimate and revealing collection yet. “These paintings were inspired by people escaping from something and stepping out of what’s familiar, even when it’s uncomfortable,” reveals TTK. Building on the success of his “See What I’m Sayin’” art book series, this exhibition promises to be more than just a visual delight; it offers a journey into the artist’s mind.Exhibition by TTK

TTK’s creations are an eclectic amalgamation of his perceptions, as he masterfully intertwines paintings, photographs, and animations to offer a surreal tour of his worldview. The essence of the exhibition, however, lies not just in the striking visuals but in the stories and personal connections behind them. These artworks are reflections from his past, windows to his childhood, and glimpses of the influential figures that have shaped his artistic journey.

TTK’s inspiration has been drawn from everyday interactions, moments that most would overlook. “The Pandemic brought this out, thinking how I missed these people and what these people meant to me, even if I didn’t know a lot about them. There was something I admired. I thought about how when you see them, you see me,” he muses. With its isolating nature, the pandemic ignited a profound introspection in the artist.

TTK’s imaginative, figurative style is a tribute to the comics, music, and pop culture that have influenced him from the ’80s to the present day. There’s a unique blend of urban culture references and the sci-fi fandom from his youth. Whether the vivid portrayal of a Storm Trooper Winter Olympic team donned in Ralph Lauren navigating mountain terrains or the ethereal image of a young black girl finding her freedom amidst the clouds, TTK’s work consistently offers a fresh perspective on the Black experience.

Having garnered critical acclaim, TTK’s unique artistic flair hasn’t gone unnoticed in the commercial realm. His collaborations include a diverse range of brands such as Urban Outfitters, Mass Appeal, Run The Jewels, Adidas, Viceland, and Roc Nation, each alliance further solidifying his foothold in the industry.
